NEA response to the Labour Party Consultation on a Green Recovery

Respiratory and circulatory diseases are linked to living in a cold and damp home and amongst those living with fuel debt. NEA believes that given the outbreak, it’s now even more crucial to help keep people warm and well in their homes and create a living environment which gives people that are ill the best possible chance of recovery. This view is also shared by the Committee for Climate Change who recently stated in their Progress report to Parliament that improved energy efficiency directly relates to the COVID-19 pandemic, given poor energy efficiency is linked to cold homes which is major contributor to respiratory health issues.
