We’re delighted to announce that the Manchester office of Siemen’s Energy Transmission Solutions UK is the latest organisation to name NEA as their charity of the year.

The company, which works on the keeping the lights on for everyone via the engineering and construction of the electricity Transmission system, has committed to supporting those living in fuel poverty by raising awareness about the topic. It is also encouraging their staff to hold fundraising events which will give additional funding to improve outcomes for vulnerable people.

Siemen’s Energy is committed to more sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy systems.  While many staff working in these areas may already understand our work, being Charity of the Year allow us to connect to people working in other areas of the business.

Jen Carruthers Jones, Head of Business Growth and Partnerships at NEA said “It’s fantastic that the Manchester office at Siemen’s Energy Transmission Solutions has chosen to support our work to ensure that everybody can live in a warm and safe home. The pandemic has exacerbated issues for those living in fuel poverty with many affected suffering from underlying health conditions, living on a low income or living in poor housing. The support of Siemen’s Energy Transmission UK will allow us to provide additional help to these people at such a vital time.”

Mark Pilling, Head of Siemen’s Energy Transmission Solutions UK said “We are delighted to be involved with NEA as our charity of the year. The impact of fuel poverty has never been clearer and has had a dramatic effect on homes across the UK during this pandemic. The work of the charity is a wonderful example of helping individuals and families in times of need and we feel humbled to play our small part.”

Colleagues at Siemens Energy Transmission Solutions Manchester have already been taking part in a variety of fundraising events to raise vital funds for NEA. We look forward to seeing what other activities Siemen’s Energy gets up to over the year!
