How we support people experiencing fuel poverty

At National Energy Action, we work to provide practical and lasting to support to people living in, or at threat of, fuel poverty. Every person’s story and experiences are different, but the physical and mental toll of living in fuel poverty is consistent.

The videos below feature some of our clients talking about their lived experience of fuel poverty and how we were able to support them. You can also hear directly from the National Energy Action team about the work we do in policy, research, advice, support and community outreach.

These stories not only show the scale of the challenge, but the impact of providing personalised support so everyone can live in a warm, safe and healthy home.

Who we are

National Energy Action (NEA) is the national fuel poverty and energy efficiency charity. We’ve worked across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland for over 40 years, to ensure that everyone in the UK can afford to live in a warm, safe and healthy home.

We work together with frontline practitioners, companies, regulators and the government for customers in vulnerable circumstances to make positive changes.

Fuel Poverty in Gwynedd

Gwynedd has historically some of the highest rates of fuel poverty in Wales and faces several challenges, which compound to make the issue worse. As energy prices rise again, we asked stakeholders what their views are on the winter ahead. Household finances are ‘already at breaking point’, compounded by some of the worst, least efficient housing in Britain. This winter, local residents will have to make ‘serious cuts to pay for fuel’ or go without, potentially to the detriment of their health and wellbeing.

How we help

Our advisers are dedicated to helping people who are in fuel poverty. Our expert team offer energy and benefits advice, can offer hardship funding and help householders improve the energy efficiency of their homes. After speaking to our team, many of our clients can afford to live in a warm, safe and healthy home.

We help clients manage fuel debt and stop them from living in a miserable cycle of fuel poverty.

We often receive lovely feedback from clients who wish to express their gratitude to our team.

‘I can’t stress enough how grateful and thankful I am, I really don’t know where or what I would have been without your help advice time and effort.
