Joint drop-in on consumer energy bills with APPG Climate.
June 16, 2026
On Tuesday, June 16 the Warm Homes APPG and Climate APPG hosted an MP drop-in event in parliament, focusing on the impact that the US and Israel’s military action in Iran has had on consumer energy bills.
The event focused on three key themes: immediate support for vulnerable households; short term policy gaps in existing support schemes, and the importance of building out renewable energy capacity in the long term to protect households from future price shocks.
National Energy Action and Uplift were joined by Citizens’ Advice, Groundwork, Nesta, and E3G to talk MPs through short and long-term policy proposals. MPs were given detailed briefings and a walk-out sheet to support further engagement on the topic.
