LEVEL 3 AWARD IN ENERGY AWARENESS 6281-01

NEED TO RE-SIT YOUR ASSESSMENT?

The following details are for National Energy Action learners only, if you originally booked your course and assessment through a different provider, please contact them direct to arrange your re-sit. Details should be outlined on your original course and assessment booking.

The Energy Awareness 6281-01 assessment is divided into two parts, as outlined below. Learners will only need to re-sit the part(s) they previously failed.

PART 1: SIMULATION BASED ASSESSMENT

The simulation is a 30-minute controlled assessment that must be observed by an assessor on a set date. Your training provider will provide details of dates.

The assessor will use role play to create a realistic scenario that allows the candidate to demonstrate their skills.

The assessment will be delivered online via Zoom.

Environment and equipment:

  • Learners must have access to a quiet, private space.
  • A laptop or desktop computer with a separate mouse and a stable internet connection is required.

Joining the assessment:

  • Learners will receive an email containing a Zoom link.
  • This link will connect them to a live session with an assessor who will guide them through the simulation.

Learners will be asked to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrate problem-solving abilities using an electricity bill
  • Explain how to correctly read a dial meter
  • Demonstrate how to set a mechanical programmer and explaining to the assessor the various functions of the programmer.
  • Demonstrate how to set a digital programmable room thermostat.

Assessment Details:

  • The assessment will be released to learners upon successful completion of stage 1 (the simulation-based assessment).
  • Learners will receive an email from our online assessment platform (Cloud Assess no-reply@assessapp.com) with instructions and a link to access the open book written assessment.
  • Learners will have up to 14 calendar days to complete the assessment from the date of release.
  • We recommend that learners set aside a minimum of 3 hours to complete the assessment.
  • The assessment consists of a number of short-answer questions.
  • It is an open book format: learners are encouraged to refer to course materials and will also be provided with candidate assessment reference documents.
