Establishment of a Just Transition Commission Consultation

NEA NI’s response supports the establishment of a Just Transition Commission with oversight and advisory functions. In particular, we welcome its proposed roles to oversee the implementation of the Just Transition elements of the Climate Change Act (NI) 2022 and ensure departmental policies, strategics and plans align with these principles.

We outline that the transition to net zero must be an inclusive process that protects and empowers low-income and vulnerable households and addresses fuel poverty.
