Amendments to the Landlord Registration Scheme Regulations (NI) 2014 Consultation

NEA NI supports expanding the information requested for landlord registration and renewal, including key safety and standards information, arguing that this is essential to strengthen tenant protections and ensure compliance with basic housing standards.

NEA NI also supports allowing the Landlord Registrar to share relevant information with the Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland to assist with gas safety enforcement, and with the Department for Communities’ Analytical Services Unit to aid policy development. This should include development and monitoring of Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).
