NEA response to Defra’s consultation on reducing personal water use
Date: 02nd Oct 2019
NEA has championed the need for the breadth of the energy industry to help fund and facilitate energy efficiency improvements. In particular, we believe obligated energy suppliers must uphold their ECO obligations and when delivering this vital assistance (either themselves or via their contractors), treat their customers fairly and respond to the enhanced needs of those in vulnerable situations. NEA has also highlighted12 how network companies can take several steps to fully realise their role in helping to fund and facilitate energy efficiency improvements. With a new focus on water poverty and aligning the policy and practical actions between energy and water, we therefore believe that we are well placed to comment on the options explored for reducing personal water use in this Defra consultation.
