What is Leicester Energy Action?

We aim to provide a holistic single point of contact service for people living in Leicester City with health conditions or vulnerabilities that put people at greater risk of being affected physically or mentally by the cold.

Who is behind the service?

The service is funded by Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board. It’s delivered in partnership with National Energy Action (NEA), a national charity, and Leicester City Council’s Public Health Division.

What do we offer?

ADVICE

Our advice service operates through a professional referral route. We have five dedicated energy advisers who provide tailored support to clients with their energy bills, negotiating with energy suppliers, adding them to the Priority Services Register, if eligible, as well as long-term energy advice.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our dedicated team collaborates closely with community partners to deliver free, personalised energy awareness sessions across the city. We carry out impactful initiatives alongside key partners including the NHS, voluntary sector organisations, educational establishments, and faith groups. This collective effort ensures that we foster a sustainable and empowered community.

TRAINING AND WEBINARS

Our programme of holistic training will upskill frontline professionals and volunteers, so advice can be expanded across the city to aid vulnerable residents who are in or at risk of fuel poverty. We offer short course webinars and Level 3 Energy Awareness qualification.

EDUCATION

Our trainer delivers face-to-face workshops for Key Stage two children. The aim is to educate young people to become more energy efficient, facilitate good behaviour change and empower them in influencing others to improve their energy habits.
