Become a Trustee of NEA

We are National Energy Action (NEA) – and our vision is to end fuel poverty; our work to improve and promote energy efficiency brings social, environmental, housing and employment benefits.  We believe everyone should be able to afford to keep their homes warm, safe and healthy however, low incomes, high energy bills and poor energy efficiency currently deny this to millions of households across the UK.  Never has this been more important than today.

Chair of the Board of Trustees

We are looking for a new Chair of the Board of Trustees to help the charity move forward in the next phase of our strategic plan and its development.  You will be someone who will share our commitment to achieving warm,  safe and healthy homes for the most vulnerable in society and be able to lead the Board of Trustees in sharing their knowledge, skills and expertise to oversee the development and implementation of our strategic and business plans, as well as the charity’s finances and work programme direction, while also empowering the senior management team who take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the charity.  The Chair of the Board usually spends on average two days a month carrying out their duties.

Trustees

National Energy Action is seeking new Trustees to join our Board.  Our trustees bring a range of skills and experience to the Board and share their expertise to oversee the development and implementation of our strategic and business plans, as well as the charity’s finances and work programme direction.  Trustees also empower the senior management team who take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the charity.  Trustees normally spend one day per month carrying out their duties.  We are particularly looking for those who possess sound HR, energy efficiency and retrofit skills, as well as those with professional and personal experience of the challenges caused by fuel poverty.  As a high proportion of those who suffer from fuel poverty are from ethnic minority backgrounds, we are keen to receive applications from those who have experienced particular cultural, language and ethnic challenges.
