Fuel Poverty Awareness Day is moving to November
On Fuel Poverty Awareness Day (29 November 2019) NEA will be working with MPs, local authorities and other organisations to raise awareness of support available for those in fuel poverty.
Fuel Poverty Awareness Day is coordinated by NEA and is the national day to raise awareness of some of the issues faced by those living in cold homes and the solutions available.
Traditionally, NEA holds Fuel Poverty Awareness Day at the end of winter but we’ve made the decision to move it to Friday 29th November 2019. This will allow NEA and all those who support the initiative to use it as an opportunity to encourage householders to seek support at the start of the winter period.
We’re currently planning our activities and will keep you updated as these progress. In the meantime, if there are any digital resources that you would find useful to help promote Fuel Poverty Awareness Day to your clients and/or stakeholders, please email your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll try to incorporate these into our planning. This might include videos, infographics or anything else you can think of that you’ll find useful.
We will also be running a Warm and Safe Homes Award Scheme which will provide small grants to not-for-profit organisations wanting to hold their own winter events. We’ll circulate details of how to apply for this funding at a later date.
Please note that the Nations’ Biggest Housewarming fundraising day will be held on Wednesday 5th February 2020. For more information contact email@example.com.
