NEA is currently working in partnership with Calor, ACRE, the Rural Community Action Network and the Commission for Rural Communities to reduce levels of fuel poverty and carbon emissions in off-grid areas by delivering FREE. The Future of Rural Energy in Europe is a three year initiative launched in 2010 which operates in rural communities across England, Scotland and Wales.
FREE targets rural areas across the UK with the highest rates of rural fuel poverty. We visit rural communities and hold energy roadshows where householders can obtain information and advice about energy efficiency, new technologies, grant availability, and reducing heat loss in homes.
These pages are intended to help members of the general public and those giving advice in local communities to identify suitable options to improve the heating and energy efficiency for a range of homes and the options available for funding these installations. Please follow the directions on each of the following pages to identify which solutions may be suitable for your home. The pages have been developed by the NEA Technical Team, with the support of Calor. A hard copy energy advice pack for off-mains gas homes is also available.
