The Warm Homes Campaign aims to raise awareness amongst politicians and members of the public of the problem of fuel poverty and the schemes that are available to help those struggling to heat their homes.

The campaign ran from Thursday 24 November until Friday 9 December and raised awareness of the problem of fuel poverty and the various schemes that are available to help those struggling to heat their homes affordably.

This year the campaign was supported by E.ON and focused on proposals for delivery of energy efficiency schemes post-2012, and the value of delivering these at a local community level. MPs were invited to lend their support by taking part in constituency activities and/or media work, and NEA members and other organizations are encouraged to get involved by arranging related activities in their local area.

This year the campaign ran in England only.

The Warm Homes Campaign Awards 2011

During the course of the campaign NEA had contact with 100 MPs. Of these, 26 participated in the campaign by attending constituency activities, briefings or holding surgeries; 32 attended the pledge signing, and to date over 80 have agreed to publish a Message of Support on their website.

Prime Minister David Cameron provided a message of support in the form of a letter to be used in the campaign pack and also in press. This is the second time David Cameron has been involved in the campaign.
