Tackling the cold

This half-day course is aimed at front-line staff working in local authorities, housing associations and third sector organisations that come into contact with vulnerable and low income groups who are at risk from living in cold homes. The course will enable front-line staff to identify those most at risk and provide basic advice about how householders can protect themselves against the impacts of the cold.

  • Winter Fuel Payment and Cold Weather Payment
  • Affordable Warmth Obligation of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO): Help to Heat
  • Priority Service Registers – fuel suppliers and Distribution Network Operators (DNO)
