Semi-detached house

Semi-detached housing

Semi-detached homes have walls of brick, block, or stone construction and fall into two categories; cavity wall construction or solid wall construction, depending on whether or not they have a cavity, or hollow space, between an inside and outside ‘skin' of brick, block or stone. The inner skin may be timber or steel-framed. Note that some cavities in older stone buildings were filled with rubble during construction and should therefore be considered as solid walls.
