NEA response to the UK Government’s Clean Growth Strategy
NEA warmly welcomes the Strategy. NEA particularly supports the commitment to prioritise current resources on those that need the most help to reduce their high energy costs and also ensure landlords are required to use their own funds to guarantee rental properties are fit for human habitation. NEA also recommends the UK Government should ensure domestic energy efficiency is a key national infrastructure priority and supports the strong case for the re-introduction of adequate central investment, where appropriate. Delivering on these priorities is essential if collectively the UK is to reach the ambition presented within this strategy, capture the on-going environmental and economic benefits at the same time as ending the needless cost and suffering the extremes of fuel poverty continues to prompt.
