In 2011, NEA is supporting the Surviving Winter Campaign with Community Foundations across the UK. Surviving Winter is a UK-wide co-ordinated campaign to encourage people to make donations to help older and vulnerable people affected by fuel poverty this winter. The campaign was inspired by individuals who wanted to donate their Winter Fuel Payment to support older and vulnerable people who are less fortunate than themselves.
NEA recognises that the most successful way of reaching and helping vulnerable households is to work with trusted community groups that have regular contact with vulnerable people. By working with the Community Foundations and developing local projects in this way, NEA is able to reach many more fuel poor households than the charity would have been able to otherwise.
