Develop and progress solutions

To develop and progress solutions to improve energy efficiency in UK households

NEA will be undertaking a range of projects to explore innovative, cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions for vulnerable households. These include:

TTT: Translating fuel bills, transforming lives; together saving the environment
This project, supported by the Local Environment Action Fund, will deliver 14 interactive half day workshops to 140 vulnerable people from communities who do not speak English as their first language. Workshops will be targeted at people in the Tyne and Wear area who are moving into social housing or privately rented properties, and will give them the knowledge to understand fuel bills; how to reduce their carbon footprint; and how to improve the energy efficiency of their property.

Helping local communities to feel the heat - Middleton Parish Hall
NEA is being funded by Banks Developments to conduct an energy audit of Middleton Parish Hall and Social Club to outline options for improving the energy efficiency of the buildings and advise committee members and building users on how they can reduce energy costs and minimise their carbon impact.

Air sourced affordable warmth in rural England (NIBE, Mitsubishi, Daikin)
It is well documented that air source heat pumps (ASHP) can effectively address rural fuel poverty. This project will raise awareness of the benefits of ASHPs and strengthen the links between the supply and demand chain by developing and delivering ASHP training for specifiers and installers and producing and disseminating promotional material to raise awareness and confidence in air source heat pumps.
